WHY START THIS ?
To be completely honest with whoever is reading this about page, my life at the time of writing this is stagnate at best. Don’t get me wrong I am fully aware that the life I have is one hundred if not one thousand times better than the majority of the world. However after some intense “soul searching”, reading a few books and watching everyone around me living a better life than mine it was time for a change and that change is Better Together Links.
The Side Hustle Rabbit Hole
Admittedly I went down the rabbit hole of, You can make 10k a month with affiliate marketing! How To Start Dropshipping? How To Make Money on TikTok? Or my personal favourite Side Hustles That Will Make You Millions. And to be fair, the majority of the information that I found was genuinely ok information, yet I found myself with a million different ideas yet still no drive to take action. It wasn’t until during one of my bursts of energy to start an online business, that I came across a video on youtube titled: Pinterest Affiliate Marketing Guide – How I Made $22,143 in 30 Days and to say my interest peaked is an understatement. And the first seed for Better Together Links was planted.
New Year, New Me ?
Before continuing with the Better Together Links storyline let’s rewind to the start of 2024. On January 1st (new year, new me right?) I had the “brilliant” idea of starting a movie review website. After watching a number of Youtube tutorials on how to do this. I eventually bit the bullet and purchased a domain with BlueHost and started a website using WordPress. My idea was, key word being was, to go through the list of IMDB top 100 rated movies, watch them and review. Everything started off great. I would watch a movie, review it then write my review and post. Now I wasn’t and still am not the greatest of writers, however I always had a passion to write, and so to me this was a great way to express my passion for not only writing but movies as well.
Burnt Out by Nicholas Sparks
It was February when everything started to go downhill. I had the brilliant idea to attempt and watch every Nicholas Sparks movie (I am a sucker for romantic movies) and review them just in time for Valentine’s Day.
First let me mention that whilst reviewing all these movies, I was also creating movie posters for every movie I watched and would post them onto my Pinterest page. I started to get real enjoyment from making these posters and posting them onto Pinterest. Also, I was beginning to get thousands of views monthly, which only motivated me to want to post more frequently. Hence the idea.
What went wrong was my ambition. Trying to post a lengthy review every day after my day job ultimately drained me. To the point that my last movie review on the site was on the 16th of February. My goal moving forward, from this point on, is to at the very least finish the top 100 rated movies however long that may take me.
Pinterest Affiliate Marketing
Why did I feel the need to share that story? Because as I said, I found real enjoyment from using Pinterest. So much so that after seeing a YouTube video explaining how people make money using affiliate links, on Pinterest. I was excited to do more research on exactly how.
After countless videos and reading posts I gained somewhat of an understanding on how to to create affiliate links and how to utilise mainly Pinterest to advertise these products. Once my research was complete the two main websites that were recommended to use to find products and links were Click Bank and Amazon Associates. Now the next steps for Better Together Links are formed.
At the time of writing this I have yet to open an Amazon Associates account due to the fact I have not yet created this Website that you are reading this post on which is a prerequisite of opening an account (you must have a website to open an account). It’s safe to say I have now done research and hopefully am promoting Links for you on my Better Together Links Blog that will better not only your life but existence on this big rock floating in space we call earth.
Click Bank
I have however opened a Click Bank account and have browsed the products on offer to advertise. Admittedly I have not yet used Click Bank so what I am about to say, take it with a grain of salt. For starters Clickbank is a bit of a Stitch Up when it comes to finding products you or I might want to advertise.
Yes you could definitely find/use the top trending products that would give you the most commission for said products. And potentially advertise those products without even using them let alone understanding what the product is. However I found that on Clickbank with a simple click (pun intended) and quick research you can tell if a product is legit. For starters if the product’s landing page is a One Video on the screen with a few words underneath and a click on this link to buy. RED FLAG! However if you do a bit more searching you will or at least I did, find a number of products whose landing page and overall website looked/felt legit. Yet still i came to the conclusion that it will be a good idea to test whatever product or course that i am going to advertise.
Better Together Links.
Apart from the obvious, to make money. My ultimate goal for this website/blog posts/affiliate links page, whatever the name for what this is. Is to find legit and trustworthy products that will better not only my existence but anyone else’s who wants to take that first step into a better life. After all “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” – Lao Tzu.
And full disclosure I will be using products and courses from Clickbank however I will only use those that I buy and test myself and or believe to be legit. And who knows this could ultimately end up like my failed movie review site but i won’t know until i try.
